We advocate that new skirting boards or scotia bead be fitted with all new flooring.
Laminate flooring is a combination of resin and fibre-board with a top layer of wood or stone print coated with a transparent plastic layer to boost durability. Laminate is a low-cost flooring, ideal in the bedroom or living room but does not perform well in high moisture areas such as bathrooms.
Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring in either planks, tiles or herringbone effect is one of the most popular types of flooring offering increased performance, versatility, warmth, water resistance, insulation and easy to clean. Affordable, with most popular rigid LVT brands coming with underlay attached, a saving on buying it separately.
Engineered or Solid Wood flooring adds a touch of opulence to the room. Solid wood is made of solid hardwood whereas engineered flooring is manufactured from several layers of plywood with a thin hardwood strip fixed on top.
Engineered flooring is less expensive than solid wood and is less prone to moisture, however neither type of flooring is recommended for use in wet areas.
